The Ransomes Jacobsen team is excited to attend our first-ever GroundsFest this year.

Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to see three of our latest innovations designed to enhance productivity, operator comfort, and turf quality across the golf and commercial turf industries.

The stand will also feature several customer favorites, including the all-electric Ransomes Aurora ELiTE out-front rotary mower, the Ransomes MP670 batwing rotary mower, and the Jacobsen TR320 cylinder mower.

Leading the lineup is the all-new Jacobsen MP670, the next evolution of the MP653 wide-area batwing mower.

Powered by an industry-leading 65.2 hp turbo diesel engine, the MP670 combines exceptional productivity with outstanding after-cut quality. Its lightweight design supports multiple impact-absorbing wing deck configurations, while the AdaptiCut load-sensing cutting performance system automatically adjusts ground speed to changing turf conditions, helping deliver a clean, consistent finish while maximizing efficiency. Operators also benefit from an ergonomic platform and an optional fully glazed cab featuring SureAir air conditioning, heat, and reduced noise and vibration for all-day comfort.

Also on display will be the new Ransomes Operator Cabin, a benchmark in operator-focused design. More than a traditional cab, it serves as a true command center, featuring the innovative SureAir air conditioning system.

Delivering 42% greater airflow and 33% improved cooling performance than previous models, the system helps operators remain comfortable and productive even in demanding conditions. Panoramic visibility, enhanced acoustic insulation, and adjustable ergonomic controls further improve comfort, confidence, and precision throughout the workday.

For golf course professionals, the Jacobsen Eclipse 2 ELiTE demonstrates how lithium technology can transform greens mowing. Built on Jacobsen’s proven walk-behind greens mower platform, the Eclipse 2 ELiTE combines advanced Samsung SDI lithium battery technology with world-renowned cutting performance. Capable of mowing more than 72,000 sq. ft., or 12+ greens, on a single charge, it delivers quiet operation, reduced maintenance requirements, and zero fuel consumption. Electronic frequency-of-clip adjustment and fixed or floating head options help ensure a uniform, championship-quality finish while providing the flexibility superintendents need to meet varying course conditions.

Visit the Ransomes Jacobsen stand to see these innovations and some customer favorites firsthand and learn how our latest equipment is helping turf professionals achieve greater efficiency, comfort, and performance.

A new benchmark for battery-powered commercial grounds care has been set, as EGO unveils its first PRO X zero-turn ride-on mower for 2027.

Delivering exceptional professional cutting performance and increased productivity for the entire working day, EGO’s powerful ZTX4800E PRO X zero-turn ride-on mower is transforming how commercial landscaping businesses operate.

Combining commercial-grade durability with the latest IoT-enabled intelligent fleet connectivity, the lap-bar-steered mower is built to help landscaping and maintenance businesses unlock efficiency, streamline workflows and reduce operating emissions.

Available as a kit, the ZTX4800E is powered by up to four of EGO’s 40Ah high-capacity batteries, delivering exceptional power and runtime to tackle demanding commercial applications with confidence. Built for durability, it features a rugged 3.8mm fabricated cutting deck, three high-performance blade motors and an impressive blade speed of 19,000 feet per minute for heavy-duty strength and cutting performance.

Going a step further in maximising fleet efficiency, the mower also functions as a mobile power hub. Equipped with an onboard DC-DC charging port, it enables users to recharge one hand-held battery from EGO’s industry-leading 56V platform while on the move. This gives users the ability to top up handheld tools with power directly in the field, reducing downtime and eliminating the need to interrupt work due to depleted batteries. Mounting fixtures are also available to help users transport handheld equipment around the job site.

Integrated 4G connectivity enables the mower to provide updates on both the mower and the tools it is transporting, giving fleet managers greater visibility of their inventory to help maximise uptime. Meanwhile, an intuitive IP66-rated colour touch screen offers intelligent operation, with onboard diagnostics and modular servicing information increasing machine uptime. The addition of gyroscopic slope detection also helps operators to work safely on uneven terrain.

The mower is compatible with the EGO Fleet app, allowing fleet managers and operators to monitor equipment performance, usage and maintenance needs across their connected fleet from a single platform at any time.

Joerg Bauerle, Product Manager EMEA for EGO, said: “Our first PRO X ride-on mower represents a major step forward for professional grounds care. We’ve designed it to do far more than simply cut grass; rather, it’s a connected productivity platform that helps commercial users work smarter, maximise uptime and manage their operations more efficiently.

“The Mothership concept takes that a step further by integrating battery management and fleet connectivity into a single machine. By supporting the full EGO platform and reducing unnecessary downtime, professional users are given greater flexibility and fleet managers have full visibility of their fleet.”

The ZTX4800E PRO X zero-turn ride-on mower is available from 2027 and is backed by EGO’s three-year professional tool warranty.

The course managers at Royal Birkdale and Royal Lytham & St Annes have praised the monumental effort from volunteers and staff in executing The Open Championship and the AIG Women’s Open over an intense fortnight.

John Deere and local dealer Turner Groundscare provided additional machines, technicians, and training for the two courses to ensure preparations were perfect, while dozens of volunteer greenkeepers descended on the venues to support.

Both clubs are established John Deere customers, but for the strict timescales required for televised tournament golf, they benefitted from additional resources to prepare for the events.

The Open Championship – Royal Birkdale

Birkdale’s Course Manager, Sean McLean, has worked Opens before, but this was his first in charge.

“It’s been years in the planning with John Deere, talking about what machinery would be needed, how we were going to work it, and how many volunteers we needed,” he said.

For tournament week, Birkdale’s regular team of 16 swelled to around 45, with volunteers drawn from other Open venues, among others.

Tee times started at 6.30am on Thursday and Friday, so the crew was on course from 4am with seven John Deere 8000AE fairway mowers and seven 2775 E-cut greens mowers deployed simultaneously to get everything ready before the first drive.

The standout addition for Sean was the John Deere 2775 E-Cut. Birkdale took delivery of two of the new electric triple riding mowers just months before The Open, specifically to have them ready for championship week. They were cutting greens, tees and surrounds.

“The staff really enjoyed using the electric mowers,” Sean said. “It’s less noise, and the finish they provided was ideal for what we needed for The Open Championship.”

Dealer Turner Groundscare arrived on site around five weeks before the tournament to begin machine preparation alongside Birkdale’s own workshop team. They supported with key tasks such as servicing, sharpening, setting bottom blades, and dialling in roller settings. During championship week a dealer technician was present full-time.

“For the week before and the week of the tournament we had a Turner Groundscare technician here pretty much all day, every day. Even outside of tournaments, the dealer provides very good support for us,” he said.

John Deere’s own staff from its Langar headquarters in Nottinghamshire also arrived on site to work with the greenkeeping team and dozens of volunteers. They provided on-site training for anyone who was not familiar with John Deere machinery, ensuring everyone was up to speed before championship week began.

“It was invaluable to have help with training for all the volunteers that might not have seen these machines before. That support made a real difference,” Sean added.

Fresh from seeing New Zealander Ryan Fox close out his first major championship, the team moved up to Royal Lytham & St Annes for the AIG Women’s Open.

AIG Women’s Open

Royal Lytham’s Course Manager Paul Smith began preparations for hosting the Women’s Open years in advance, making sure the course is ready to host the world’s very best players.

“It takes a lot of planning, hard work, dedication, and professionalism to maintain and manage a well prepared and conditioned course all year round, which is never that far away from being the best it can be,” he said.

John Deere has been instrumental in supporting Royal Lytham & St Annes in hosting every major championship since 2001, over time proving to be a very beneficial relationship in helping the greenkeeping team plan, learn and develop from each competition.

“Having John Deere and Turner Groundscare present and supporting on site provided us with an added level of assurance, knowing that any problems would be addressed promptly, ensuring the continued smooth running of the operation throughout,” said Paul. “John Deere worked closely with the club’s mechanic and lead ensuring that we delivered the very best.”

An extensive fleet of John Deere machinery was deployed on all areas of the Championship course, made up of eleven 2775 greens mowers, six 8000AE fairway mowers, and eight TE Gators, with over 30 greenkeepers operating the machines – double the amount of Royal Lytham’s regular team.

“The feedback on the performance and quality of the John Deere machines was recognised widely from not just the professionals who operated the machinery, but also by the elite players testing their game on the surfaces that the machines helped refine.”

The extra machinery and dealer back up made the difference when combined with additional greenkeepers volunteering for the event.

“Delivering a modern-day championship is reliant on the support of an adequately sized, professional and skilled team,” said Paul. “The level of planning, organising, and directing is maintained at a high level throughout, with data collection and course preparation critique positively influencing informed decision making, helping to deliver the marginal gains in all areas for the course to be at its very best.

“A major championship is only ever achievable by having this high level of support, backup, and knowledge in all areas, but particularly the machinery element that John Deere and Turner Groundscare provided.”

While hot and dry conditions made it an especially difficult year for greenkeeping in the build-up to the tournament – which was won by Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki – Paul praises his team and the support team for delivering a successful championship.

“The challenges were exacerbated by the difficult conditions but ensuring that the course and the competition was a success was the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and professionalism by an outstanding team.

“Our support team were also fantastic and made the championship that bit more special.”

Haverhill Cricket Club has strengthened its grounds maintenance capabilities thanks to a generous donation from Toro, who selected the club as part of the Toro Donation Programme.

The club received a Toro eProStripe pedestrian mower, complete with the Groomer Brush attachment, providing volunteers with professional-grade equipment to help maintain high-quality playing surfaces throughout the season.

Founded in 1861, Haverhill Cricket Club has long been a cornerstone of the local community.

Today, the club supports two Senior Saturday sides, two Senior Sunday sides, three Junior teams, one Midweek team and two Ladies teams, and regularly hosts league cup finals and Suffolk county fixtures. Its facilities are maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the grounds in excellent condition.

Vice Chairman Liam Savage expressed his appreciation for the donation: “We cannot thank Toro enough for the service provided, and we cannot wait to use the equipment. Haverhill Cricket Club has been a major part of the town for many years — a real community club with a fantastic setup both on and off the field.

“We’re proud of our facilities and grounds, and this support will help us continue to improve them.”

The handover was attended by Matt Coleman, Sales Manager at Toro, and Andy Brown, Finance Manager at Toro U.K. Limited, who met with Liam Savage, Mick Harding, and Phil Dingley, the club’s grounds team.

Matt Coleman, Sales Manager at Toro, highlighted the importance of supporting grassroots sport: “Clubs like Haverhill are the heartbeat of their communities. Their volunteers put in an incredible amount of work, and having reliable, professional equipment can make a huge Toro U.K. Limited difference.

“We’re delighted to support them with the eProStripe and Groomer Brush, and we’re confident it will help them maintain the high standards they’re known for.”

Andy Brown, Finance Manager at Toro U.K., added: “It’s always rewarding to see our products making a real impact at local clubs. The dedication shown by Haverhill’s grounds team is fantastic, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping them continue to deliver excellent playing surfaces for all age groups.”

The donation reinforces Toro’s commitment to supporting community sport and ensuring clubs have access to the tools they need to maintain safe, well-presented facilities for players of all ages.

After more than two decades at The Scandinavian Golf Club, Course Manager Russell Anderson knows exactly what is needed from the team and their equipment to maintain renowned high standards across two 18-hole courses.

High on their machinery ‘must-haves’ are reliability and consistency which, when the time came to replace their existing mower fleet, prompted the purchase of four LM551B fairway mowers from Baroness.

As the only golf destination in continental Europe with both courses ranked among the Top 50, expectations at the Danish venue are great and the presentation and playability achieved by Russell and his team of 18 is nothing short of world-class.

After years of purchasing equipment in package deals, the club decided it was time to change tact and open the door to all manufacturers – what followed was extensive research and testing for new fairway mowers.

“We invited all major brands to come in and demonstrate some options and we looked at various aspects including cut performance, build quality, operator comfort, maintenance demands and the dealer support” explains Russell. “The liking for the LM551B’s from Baroness was universal, including a big thumbs up from my mechanic which was a big factor in us making our decision to purchase four mowers which were delivered in early April 2026.”

He continues, “Both the build quality and cut quality is superb. We knew this is what Baroness was renowned for, but still, it has been impressive to see this first hand. The LM551B’s cut all the fairways on one course each day and leave an immaculately clean finish after every pass to the admiration of the operators and players alike.”

Ticking the box for cut quality, the investment has also addressed previous issues with downtime and costly repairs. “The simplicity and robustness of the Baroness mowers really stood out, there’s just less to go wrong which means more time in the field and less time costing us money in the workshop.”

“We must also praise the patience and support from Lasse Lindholm at dealers Lindholm Maskiner. The decision took quite a number of months and Lasse never put pressure on us and always took the time to answer any extra questions we had” Russell adds.

In addition to the four mowers, the club also took delivery of a Baroness FS900 sweeper for post-renovation clean-up, which has also quickly left a lasting impression! “This is another fantastic, productive piece of equipment, we’ve been extremely happy with it.”

For Russell, the move to Baroness has delivered exactly what The Scandinavian Golf Club was searching for: premium cut quality, dependable performance, happier mechanics and lower long-term maintenance concerns. “Changing brands always comes with an element of trepidation but opting for the Baroness machines has been a very positive experience for us all round” he concludes.

Six thousand sites, highly diverse working environments and some of the most demanding vegetation management conditions imaginable.

When CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment company, renewed its groundcare fleet across the UK, it left the decision to the people who use the machines every day.

The outcome was clear: CBRE’s groundcare teams chose AS-Motor. Their decision was based on years of positive experience in daily operation, combined with the machines’ proven performance and reliability in the toughest working conditions.

With around 140,000 employees worldwide and revenue of approximately USD 35.8 billion in 2025, CBRE is one of the world’s leading real estate services companies. In the UK, the company manages around 6,000 commercial, industrial, technical and public sites. Its services include technical building maintenance and a wide range of property and facilities management services, including the maintenance of outdoor areas and green spaces.

When the time came to renew the groundcare fleet, CBRE deliberately chose to let the people who work with the machines every day make the decision, rather than management or procurement. “We asked the people who use the equipment every day to identify the best machines for the job. Our teams were instructed to assess the equipment solely on its suitability for the work they carry out every day. The outcome was unanimous. Time and again, our teams have chosen AS-Motor because of its proven capability, reliability and performance in demanding environments,” explains Paul Clark, National Grounds and Maintenance Manager, CBRE.

Many of the green spaces maintained by CBRE have little in common with traditional parks or amenity grass areas. Typical sites include telecommunications facilities, industrial premises and other technical locations. As these areas are generally cut only once a year, CBRE’s groundcare teams regularly face high grass, dense vegetation, brambles and the early stages of scrub encroachment. Conditions also vary considerably from site to site, ranging from steep banks and difficult terrain to large open areas. As a result, both operators and machines are subjected to demanding working conditions.

“Much of the work we undertake isn’t routine amenity grass cutting. We are often working on sites that haven’t been cut for many months. We need machinery that can cope with those conditions day after day while giving our operators the confidence to work safely and efficiently,” says Clark.

It is no coincidence that the teams once again selected AS-Motor. Machines from the southern German manufacturer have been part of CBRE’s fleet for many years, with some units still performing reliably after eight or nine years of service. This long-term positive experience played a key role in the latest fleet renewal.

The new fleet has been tailored to meet the wide variety of applications encountered by CBRE’s groundcare teams. It includes the AS 940 Sherpa XL and AS 1040 YAK XL ride-on high grass mowers, complemented by pedestrian high grass mowers, flail mowers, mulching mowers and several AS 30 WeedHex brush weeders for mechanical weed control on hard surfaces.

For the first time, CBRE has also introduced the Ovis Evo 1000 RC remote-controlled flail mower. The company expects the machine to deliver significant improvements in both operator safety and productivity, particularly when working on steep slopes and difficult terrain.

“Introducing remote-controlled mowing is a significant step forward for us. This is the first time we’ve incorporated remote-control machines into our fleet, and we’re excited by the improvements they’ll bring in both operator safety and productivity when working on steep slopes and difficult terrain,” says Clark. “The comprehensive machine handover and operator training provided by AriensCo has given our teams the confidence to adopt this new technology safely and effectively from day one.”

A project of this scale can only succeed through close collaboration. Alongside selecting the machines, delivery, commissioning and operator training were all essential parts of the rollout. CBRE was supported throughout the project by AS-Motor dealer Lawncare Garden Machinery and AriensCo UK.

“We are delighted to support CBRE not only with the supply of their new AS-Motor fleet but also with the long-term service and aftersales support that will keep the machines performing at their best for years to come. This has been a real team effort involving many people across the UK,” says Barbara Green, Lawncare Garden Machinery.

Sam Lewis, General Manager of AriensCo UK, also sees the decision as a strong endorsement of AS-Motor: “What makes this project particularly rewarding is that the decision was made by the people who use the machines every day. The fact that they evaluated the equipment purely on its capability and once again selected AS-Motor demonstrates the confidence they have in our products under some of the most demanding working conditions.”

With its new groundcare fleet, CBRE is well equipped to continue maintaining around 6,000 sites across the UK safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standards.

Major Equipment will be exhibiting at GroundsFest, taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire from 16-17th September 2026.

Visit Major at outdoor stand A460, where they will be showcasing their professional tractor mounted mowers and flail collectors – each machine designed to deliver a perfect finished cut, reduce downtime and make your job easier.

Call to the Major stand to see the MJTDR-490 TriDeck Roller Mower. With a 4.9m cutting width and precision engineering, it offers superior striping and reliable performance on undulating terrain, sports fields and public spaces.

The wings can be operated independently, making this a versatile and safe mower, particularly when operating in public spaces.

Major will be showcasing their MJ29-153-HL Flail Collector at this year’s event. This 1.53m unit is ideal for cutting and collecting in a single pass, leaving a clean and tidy finish. With a 2m tipping height, it allows safe and easy emptying into a trailer. Whether you’re collecting autumn leaves or tackling wildflower meadows, this is your go-to machine.

Also featuring at GroundsFest is the Major MJ65-300 CS Pro; purpose-built for contractors and local authorities requiring a wide cut with a flawless finish, with a low HP requirement. Its 3m working width and robust build make it ideal for wide-area maintenance. Long-time user James Pask of Greenstripe Groundcare says, “The way the Major mower handles the grass and mulches the clippings, whilst leaving a really nice striped finish is just perfect.”

The MJ71-400 Swift Roller Mower will also be on display. Fully galvanised to resist corrosion, it is ideal for parks, schools and sports grounds. The heavy-duty gearbox driveline delivers consistent mowing, even in challenging terrains and grass types.

The Major team will be on hand to discuss your needs and help you find the most suitable mower – whether you’re exploring solutions for your local council, expanding your landscaping services or maintaining sports turf.

Dunblane Golf Club has taken an exciting step forward in its commitment to course excellence, announcing a major investment in Toro equipment through a new fleet agreement with Reesink Scotland.

The decision follows a comprehensive evaluation process conducted alongside Reesink carefully assessing the latest turfcare technology available.

Driven by a commitment to continually enhance playing conditions and maintain exceptional standards throughout a busy schedule of competitions, events, and charity days, the club identified Toro as the ideal partner for its future ambitions.

Extensive discussions between Course Manager Grant Donaldson and Reesink Scotland Area Sales Manager John Rankin focused on ensuring the chosen machinery would deliver the performance, reliability, and long-term value required by the club.

“Making a change from machinery you’ve relied on for many years is a significant decision,” says Grant. “There are many stakeholders involved, including the board and management committee, and it’s important that everyone is aligned. Toro demonstrated that it could meet a range of objectives while supporting our long-term vision for the course.”

A key element of the decision-making process was gathering hands-on feedback from the greenkeeping team. Multiple demonstrations were conducted, with particular attention given to the Toro Greensmaster eTriFlex 3370 electric mowers. The response from operators was overwhelmingly positive, with the team highlighting its comfort, ease of use, and overall performance.

“The team’s input was incredibly important,” Grant explains.

“They work with the equipment every day, and their reaction to Toro, particularly the electric units, was extremely encouraging. The enthusiasm they showed gave us real confidence in the decision.”

The club was also attracted by Reesink’s ReeAssure maintenance package, which provides fixed servicing costs and dependable support throughout the agreement. The package offers greater budget certainty while helping ensure the fleet continues to operate at peak performance.

“Having clarity around maintenance costs is a real benefit,” says Grant. “It removes uncertainty and gives us confidence that we’ll continue to receive a high level of support”.

Introducing electric machinery to the fleet for the first time is an exciting milestone for the club. The new fleet includes two all-electric Toro Greensmaster eTriFlex 3370 mowers dedicated to greens and tees, alongside a Reelmaster 5610 for fairways and a Groundsmaster 4500 for rough and semi-rough areas. The club is already looking ahead, with plans to further expand the Toro fleet in the years to come.

Sustainability and operational efficiency were also key considerations. By incorporating electric technology into its maintenance programme, the club expects to reduce fuel consumption while delivering both environmental and financial benefits, supporting its broader sustainability objectives.

Throughout the process, Reesink Scotland’s commitment and customer support played an important role in building confidence in the transition.

“The support has been outstanding,” says Grant. “The team has been readily available whenever we’ve needed advice, and they’ve maintained regular contact throughout. Their professionalism and commitment have been excellent.”

Grant highlighted the value of trusted industry relationships, noting his long-standing connections with Reesink service specialists Rab Wilson and Gordon Graham. “Working with people you know and trust makes a real difference. The team worked in partnership with us from day one, taking the time to understand our vision and helping us build a package that aligned perfectly with our ambitions. Their support, expertise and commitment throughout the process have been outstanding, and we’re excited to see the benefits this investment will bring.”

Genuine Toro cylinders deliver the clean, precise finish turfcare professionals at the top of their game expect, with competitive pricing and the added value of trusted performance and reliable support.

When it’s time to replace worn cylinders after the busiest months of the season, many assume aftermarket alternatives are the most economical option. But that’s a misconception, says Reesink Turfcare.

Michael Hampton, Supply Chain Manager at Reesink Turfcare, says: “There’s a perception across the industry that genuine parts automatically come at a premium, but that’s often not the reality.

“When customers compare genuine Toro cylinders with alternatives, they’re frequently surprised by how competitive they are. Once you factor in fit, performance and service life, genuine represents outstanding value.”

Every genuine Toro cylinder is manufactured to the exact specifications of the original component fitted to the machine. That means there’s no compromise on fit and no sacrifice to the quality of the cut the machine was engineered to deliver. And when it comes to cylinders in particular, that really matters.

For experienced turf professionals, the real cost of a replacement part extends beyond the initial purchase price. Time spent making adjustments, inconsistent performance and reduced component life all carry a cost.

Genuine Toro cylinders are designed to eliminate those compromises, integrating seamlessly with the cutting unit to deliver the consistency, durability and after-cut appearance expected from Toro machinery.

“Customers have already invested in a machine known for elite performance,” Michael continues. “Fitting genuine Toro cylinders protects that investment. They’re built from high-quality materials, manufactured to exact tolerances and tested to perform exactly as intended. When you consider the complete picture, they’re not simply the genuine option – they’re often the best-value option too.”

After a demanding summer, many machines are approaching scheduled servicing, making now the right time to assess cylinder wear. Replacing worn components with genuine Toro parts ensures equipment continues to perform as designed, while avoiding the false economy that can come from choosing parts based on price alone.
